Things have been busy since the turn of the year. Yes, Silent Ventures closed an $85M early stage defense and deep tech fund, but we avoided publishing click-bait headlines about being oversubscribed, closing in a matter of weeks, and delivering top-decile returns. Instead, we tripled-down on what’s made us successful: founders, founders, founders. In doing so, we’ve led first check investments into exceptional early stage companies like Ironstead, Furientis, American Supercritical, and Supply Energetics, among others. We’ve also had the privilege of continuing to support the remarkable teams at Saronic Technologies, Erebor, Armada, Amca, Dominion Dynamics, and Terra Industries.

Guided by a differentiated ethos - proximity, humility, and service - Silent Ventures was fortunate to attract major investment from Brian Singerman’s GPx. While I’m unable to publicly share much about GPx, their site states they “give elite GPs an unfair advantage.” I can personally attest to this. I’ve learned more from Brian and Lee Linden than just about anyone else in this ecosystem. Contrarians supporting contrarians with non-consensus strategies and 5th-dimension thought experiments - this is what makes them tick. Nonstop challenges to my thesis: this is what makes me excited to have them as limited partners. And it’s a blessing to share these learnings with founders like Garuth Acharya, Brody Franzen, Simon Shuham, Michael Brown, and others yet to be named. From evaluating the human variable to making highly concentrated bets under pressure, this is how Silent Ventures invests with conviction.

So, if you’re a pre-seed founder building things of consequence for the betterment of the free world, national security, critical systems, and the defense industrial base, we at Silent Ventures want to hear from you. We may very well end up writing your first check, but only if we’ve earned the right to be on your cap table.

Congrats to our friend, Chris Power. This is no small task - re-industrializing America. We were fortunate to be a first check into Hadrian. Many allocators have endless questions about the origin story. When people ask, I always tell them I think it's remarkable that an Aussie came to the States to fix our industrial base. Imagine that? Another successful immigrant story for the record books. To the team, thanks for having Silent Ventures along for this immaculate journey. It's a sight to behold.

On Sunday evening, CENTCOM forces successfully struck a submarine and ship maintenance facility in Iran. Three Saronic Corsair unmanned surface vessels hit the port at Bandar Abbas Naval Base, marking the first time American forces have employed sea drones in combat operations. This is why we do it.

We've know Eliot Pence since his early days at Anduril to his time leading GTM at Cambium, and we're absolutely thrilled to again invest in the incredible work he and team are doing at Dominion Dynamics. Silent Ventures believes many Western nations will build out thriving DIBs for domestic sovereignty. Canada is particularly unique because of the Arctic. Many Eastern threats loom over the horizon. Dominion Dynamics is North America's first line of defense. And while $100M is a commendable Series A, we expect this number will significantly grow and look forward to defending the dominion, alongside the founding team, well into the future. Congrats all!
