Kelly became interested in mosaics about fifteen years ago after meeting another artist who created art from broken dishes. It was a medium with few rules, and endless possibilities. The free-form style, coupled with Kelly's love of antiques, resulted in the creation of truly one-of-a-kind pieces, incorporating broken dishes, buttons, beads, vintage jewelry, old tins, figurines, and anything else she could get her hands on.

Kelly now makes most of her own mixed media ingredients, mainly of earthenware, in her studio in the historic West Bottoms neighborhood of Kansas City. Some of her favorite projects include collaborating with clients to create timeless, custom works of art. After lots of detours, Kelly finally lives in her dream cottage in Midtown Kansas City, just a mile or so from where she was born.

It is good to have a target timeline for your dreams. But it is also good to allow that timeline to evolve and to give yourself a little grace when you are not where you think you should be. You just might be right where you are supposed to be. I'm not crazy about the word deadline. Your dream isn't dead when your timeline changes. Keep that dream alive!

If you aren’t currently using cloud-based systems in your business, you might find being forced to work from home a little frustrating right now. Cloud-based systems allow you to login anywhere on any device (laptop, phone, tablet…) as long as you have an internet connection. I like using cloud-based file storage to share files rather than relying on email. And with my bookkeeping business, all my clients are using cloud-based accounting solutions.
