Canceling an insurance policy and wondering if you get money back?

Yes, you do.

If you cancel before the end of your policy term, any unused portion is typically refunded on a prorated basis. That means you are only paying for the time the policy was actually in force.

In most cases, the refund goes back to the card or bank account on file. Some companies may issue and mail a check instead.
