Philippians 3:13–14 reminds us to release what is behind us and keep moving toward what God has ahead.

You cannot move confidently into your future while constantly looking back at your past. Give yourself permission to release the mistakes, regrets, disappointments, and former versions of yourself. God is calling you forward with purpose! 🙌🏽

Hidden Struggles, Part Three: Seeking God’s Approval

It’s easy to miss the mark when we’re overly concerned with people’s approval. We can want their acceptance so badly that we ignore what God is telling us to do. We may change our words, our choices, or even our direction just to keep someone else happy.

But our greatest concern should be pleasing God. Galatians 1:10 asks, “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God?” We can’t let the desire for people’s approval pull us away from God’s purpose for our lives.

People may not always understand or agree with what God is calling us to do. Still, we must stay faithful and seek His approval above all. Lord, help us listen for Your voice, obey Your direction, and live to please You. Amen.

Hidden Struggles, Part Two: The Struggle with People

Sometimes the struggle is other people. We worry about what they will think, what they will say, and how they will respond. We can become so focused on pleasing people that we lose sight of what God is calling us to do. Their opinions can pull us out of alignment with God’s will and the destiny He has placed before us.

Proverbs 29:25 says, “The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.” When we let fear of people guide our choices, we can become trapped by their expectations. But our calling is not determined by people’s approval. We have to trust God enough to obey Him, even when everyone may not understand.

There is a song that says, “Deliver me from people.” And that’s my prayer: Lord, deliver us from the fear of people—the need for their approval, the worry about their opinions, and the pressure to live by their expectations. Help us stay faithful to what You have called us to do. Amen.
