Did you know? Those giant cotton bales you see during harvest season are bigger than you might think!

After cotton the harvested and ginned, it is compressed into large bales that weigh about 480 pounds each. The cotton from a single bale can be used to produce hundreds of clothing items and other products we use every day.

As harvest continues across North Alabama, these bales are a visible reminder of the hard work and dedication of our state’s cotton farmers.
