My birthday dinner from last year. Now I’m 55 the “old double-nickel”. I’m blessed beyond measure. Daughters, sons, family, bros., church family, my campers mean; they all mean the world to me.

2020 took a toll on everyone and changed the world.
2021 tried to take me out.
2022 was a year filled with trials.
2023 was, in ways, even worse than all.

God was with me through it all, at times I felt like it was too much. He was there. Often, He sent one of you to run after me. I am thankful for God’s loving kindness and I’m thankful for all of you.

The last couple of weeks have brought a great deal of healing for me and I am looking so forward to this year! Good things are certainly on their way.

Much luv- God is good!

2023 is over, and so too is the stock market's winning streak. After nine straight weeks of gains, the S&P 500 finally took a breather, falling slightly last week.

We'd chalk it up primarily to some beginning-of-the-year repositioning, as well as a to-be-expected break after a stellar 16% rally in the final two months of the year.

Last week brought fresh data on both the Fed and the labor market, and while it failed to fuel an extension to stocks' winning streak, we don't think it changes the broader direction as markets embark on their encore to last year's rebound.

In our latest Weekly Market Wrap, we share a few takeaways on how these important factors are kicking off 2024.

2023 started with depressed expectations and fears of a recession but ended with optimism and strong performance across most asset classes that make up a well-diversified portfolio.

The change of the calendar presents an opportunity to reflect and review some of the milestones that defined the economy and the markets over the past 12 months, along with our views on the potential implications for 2024.

It was generally a quiet week for the markets in terms of headlines and new data, with markets oscillating day to day, but finishing with a modest move for the week. It's been anything but a quiet year, however.

We think 2024 can build on this year's gains, but not without some bumps along the way. But before we turn the page on the calendar, let's look back at how 2023 stacks up against history. Spoiler: it's in good company. Read more in our latest Weekly Market Wrap.

With a few weeks left of 2023, markets remain on track for a strong finish. As the torch passes to 2024, investors are counting on a successful Fed pivot away from restrictive policy to a more neutral stance to build on this year's gains.

In our latest Weekly Market Wrap, we offer three reasons why we see a gradual shift in Fed policy ahead.
