Have you heard about the Social Security Advance Designation of Representative Payee? It's a simple step that can help ensure your social security benefits are managed by someone you trust if you're ever unable to do so yourself.

The advance designation allows you to:

-Name up to three people who could serve as a representative payee if the need arises

-Have comfort in knowing that someone you trust may be considered to manage your benefits in the future

-You can provide or update your advance designation information through your My Social Security account, by phone, or at your local Social Security office.

Please note that advance designation is optional, is not a power of attorney, and is not an appointment of a payee. You can update it or withdraw it at any time.
