Bob Shields with TowneBank Mortgage Reverse Mortgage Consultant I have been associated with the Real Estate and Mortgage industries since 1985.

After leaving a successful career with several international manufacturing concerns, I began developing my background and experience in the area of sales and marketing. In 1985 I obtained my license as a Real Estate agent with a local company. In 1987 I expanded this knowledge by accepting a position with Maryland National Mortgage Corporation where I developed a working knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC,

FHA, VA, RESPA and Regulation Z guidelines. It was during this time I was recruited as an instructor with the Real Estate Institute where I was certified to provide licensure and continuing education classes for Realtors. In my last position, I was a Senior Vice President of Next Generation Financial Services, a Division of 1st Mariner Bank, which specialized in Reverse Mortgages. During my 15 years with 1st Mariner Mortgage, I have been instrumental in their growth from a $20 million dollar a year to a $1.5 billion dollar operation. I played an innovative roll through NGFS in the development of a national initiative involving financial professional in the integration of Reverse Mortgage and Financial solutions to extend retirement.
