Car insurance can be confusing but knowing the difference between COMPREHENSIVE and COLLISION coverage can make a big difference! Many drivers think they are protected against absolutely everything. But physical damage protection is actually split into two very different parts:
COLLISION - Pays to fix your vehicle if you hit something (accident with another car, hitting a guardrail, tree, or even potholes). Think of it as "moving vehicle" coverage.
COMPREHENSIVE - Pays for damage caused by things outside of a car accident (theft, vandalism, windshield cracks, hail, floods, hitting an animal). Think of it as "bad luck/act of nature" coverage.
