Single women own an average of 12.9% of the owner-occupied homes in the US, compared to 10.06% ownership among single men.
Did you know that in 2021, single women had a 32% HIGHER rate of homeownership than single men? This is despite not being able to get a mortgage without a co-signer until 1974 - thanks to the passing of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act.
This Womenโs History Month we wanted to start with a collective toast to all the women who are investing in homeownership and themselves. Follow along as we celebrate those changing the mortgage game and womenโs path to homeownership.
