Nonprofit Spotlight 🌟
While summer is the Crested Butte Avalanche Center's off-season, the work continues year-round. The team is currently wrapping up research projects, organizing historical avalanche records, and preparing for next winter.
During the ski season, CBAC provides daily weather and avalanche forecasts and creates educational resources to help backcountry users make informed decisions. This past winter alone, the team produced 57 field-based videos illustrating avalanche conditions and travel strategies.
One accomplishment they're especially proud of: the Gunnison Valley experienced zero avalanche-related injuries or fatalities this season.
