WELCOME FALL (AUTUMNAL EQUINOX)
The Autumnal or Fall Equinox occurs when the length of time between day and night is equal; equinox literally means “equal night." In the Northern Hemisphere, this generally falls on September 22nd or 23rd as the sun crosses the celestial equator going south. The September equinox is called the autumnal equinox, because it marks the first day of fall (autumn).

On Patriot Day, we pause to remember and honor those we lost on September 11, 2001.

Observed each year on September 11, Patriot Day honors the lives lost in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Virginia, and those who perished when hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania.

We also remember the brave men and women who lost their lives while attempting to rescue those trapped by the attacks.

Happy Labor Day!🛠️ Ever wonder how Labor Day became a holiday?

Beginning in the late 19th century, as trade unions and labor movements grew, trade unionists proposed setting aside a day to celebrate labor. “Labor Day” was promoted by the Central Labor Union and the Knights of Labor, who organized the first Labor Day parade in New York City.

In 1887, Oregon became the first state to make Labor Day an official public holiday. By the time it became a federal holiday in 1894, 30 states were already officially celebrating it.

And ironically, today, it’s a day when many workers end up laboring more than usual. So much for the day off!
