Starting Wednesday, December 14th, until Friday, December 16th, the U.S. Marines will be hosting their annual Toys for Tots giveaway event at the Broken Arrow Armed Forces Reserve Center (26401 E. 101st St., Broken Arrow, OK 74014). This event will run from 8 AM to 5 PM daily.
Coweta Police Department expects as many as 4,000 people to participate, creating potential traffic issues within Coweta, especially near the Reserve Center.
All Toys for Tots traffic will be routed into Coweta via State Highway 51 to 111th, where they will turn left and go past Walmart to 273rd East Ave. They will then turn left towards the Reserve Center. Traffic will continue up the hill on 273rd to the Reserve Center. Traffic will exit north onto 101st, and then travel to 257th, where they will re-enter State Highway 51.
111th will be closed to westbound traffic from 273rd East Ave to Highway 51 and all Walmart traffic will be directed to the South entrance. No parking lot traffic will be allowed to exit onto 111th.
If you live near 111th behind Walmart, please use 111th eastbound to 289th, then turn right on 289th and travel to 121st. Then, turn right and continue to State Highway 51.
We ask all residents in the impacted areas to find alternate routes to and from work, school, or daily errands. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Coweta Police Department at (918) 486-2121 or email Chief Bell at [email protected].
