General liability protects your business against the damage you or your employee may have

caused to someone else or to someone else's property. Most important as well is to carry umbrella insurance to cover against excess liability exposure for your company for your business as well as for your commercial auto exposure. Workers compensation as well to cover your employees if they get hurt inside your business while working or if they get hurt outside while they are driving to transport your products.

Do you know what type of policy you have? A named peril policy lists perils that ARE covered. With this type of policy, the policyholder has the burden of proof that the named peril was the cause of the loss. Some examples of this are: theft, burglary, robbery, mysterious disappearance, falling objects, lightning, fire, smoke, and water damage from certain causes.
