Sometimes when I speak to someone about overcoming a money fear, it’s ancestral… they don’t want to be ridiculed by their family for the possibility of becoming rich… it totally blows my mind that family members still do this to each other! 🤯

But there is a universal fear that shows up when I’m helping people first set up their brokerage account and pull the trigger on sending over their initial investment…

The fear of “I don’t make enough.”

What I find is when we break down their numbers and look at their expenses, they are buying all sorts of things that are impulsive, random things that don’t really mean anything to them.

When you start to invest, it’s like you are locking in a conscious wealth persona… it’s a decision in yourself. You are suddenly becoming convicted in your wealth journey, and it does have a positive impact on you…

You start to become more picky about what you spend your money on… suddenly a choice emerges… “Do I spend it on this (random thing-a-ma-bob) or do I send this $20 off to my investment?

And then the next thought emerges (to overcome), “Oh, but the $20 won’t make any difference…” And if I had believed that 20 years ago I wouldn’t be a multimillionaire now.

Your mind will tell you all sorts of things to stop you. It will list off reason after reason why you shouldn’t. But locking in to becoming the one who believes in yourself and your desire to feel better about money is the true gift that keeps on giving…

Remember to listen to the version of you who truly knows deep down what she/he wants to accomplish in this lifetime. 😘

You're not "wrong" for having debt AND wanting to invest!

In fact, if this is what you have been feeling to do, then it means there's a higher part of you calling you forward to start building the life you REALLY want.

There are many financial "gurus" who say you need to have all your debt paid off before you can invest.

And this could not be further from the truth.

I started investing just $20 a month to start, and I had over $30k in debt at the time.

I would even go as far to say that I was able to tackle my debt faster BECAUSE I STARTED investing. The mindset shifts came in strong when I started trusting myself and doing scary things regardless of the fear.

My priorities changed quickly when I saw the potential for growth in my mon ey over what holding debt meant for me.

When you take action and do the thing, YOU CHANGE. It's not the other way around.

Reach out to me if you feel like your fears are getting the best of you when it comes to investing. I will be your greatest cheerleader and tell you that YOU CAN DO THIS.

I'm wishing you all the abundance!

When people ask me whether they should do something when the market dips...

My answer is, it's totally up to you. BUT, I teach you to be in your power when it comes to investing AND to look at past performance on a chart (to help put your mind at ease), AND to know your long term plan.

When you look at a chart of the S&P 500 Index over the last 60 years, the market has gone up long term. AND anytime, there has been a dip due to news, crisis, or otherwise, the market has not only recovered within a year to two years, but it keeps going up.

The more you educate yourself, the more you build resiliency...

When I started investing, I was in debt...

Yes, it was the counterintuitive thing to do, but I also knew my goal deep down was to grow an investment account to at least $1 mi llion so I could live a freedom lifestyle and do work that lit me up.

So I started with just $20 a month.

And that $20 was a huge leap for me at the time. I was going to college with over $40k in debt and living off of Top Raman and Pop Tarts.

But with that decision, something inside of me changed.

I decided it was time for me to take responsibility for my desires, and I slowly changed my mindset around money.

I became more aware of my spending. I learned how credit cards were keeping me stuck. I started my own business (because working for minimum wage was NOT going to get me to my goals). And I started investing consistently.

I shared what I wish someone had told me earlier in this blog post: https://investingwithease.com/how-to-start-investing-with-just-100-a-beginners-guide/

You get to have the life you desire!
