International Credit Union (ICU) Day is October 16th!

Join other members around the globe in celebrating 77 years of ICU Day and the Credit Union Philosophy of "People-First"

On October 16th, visit your branch and enjoy coffee and treats. Be entered for the chance to win a $50 gift card.

Not a member of a credit union?
Belonging to a credit union offers you better financial products, such as lower loan rates and higher savings rates, and lower fees, due to their non-profit, member-owned structure.
Credit unions provide a more personalized, community-focused experience with personalized service and financial education, while still offering the same deposit insurance as banks.
Take ICU Day as an opportunity to become a member of something big!

It's that time of year again! A time of giving and thanks!

CCFCU is accepting monetary donations to benefit local food banks.
For every dollar donated, CCFCU will match a dollar
(up to $1000 per person)!

Visit inside the branch when making your donation and GUESS THE VALUE of the groceries in the bag. At the end of the cash drive the groceries will be donated to the Food Bank and the person who’s guess was the closest to the value of the groceries will win a $50.00 GIFT CARD! (one entry per donor)

Don't miss out on this opportunity to help and support our communities this holiday season!

‼️DON'T BE A VICTIM OF A CHECK CASHING SCAM!‼️

Checking cashing scams often involve fake checks received through online sales, job offers, or government imposter scams. Common methods include "check washing" to alter legitimate checks, and scammers asking you to deposit a larger-than-needed check and wire back the difference before the fake check bounces. Scammers may also use mobile banking apps to quickly cash fraudulent checks using downloadable templates, a phenomenon know as the "Check Fraud Challenge". Be wary of high-pressure tactics, requests for immediate payment (cash, gift cards, or cryptocurrency), and instructions to send money back to the "sender".

How to Protect Yourself
• Be suspicious of large checks: If a buyer sends a check for more than the agreed price and asks for the difference back, it's a classic scam.
• Verify check authenticity: If you receive a check you weren't expecting, contact the issuing bank directly using a phone number from their official website (not the number on the check).
• Don't rush to spend the money: Wait for the check to fully clear your bank before spending any of the funds, as it may take weeks to discover it's fake.
• Go digital: Use direct deposit and online banking instead of paper checks to reduce your risk.
• Be careful with mobile banking: Don't scan QR codes from unexpected items or send money via Zelle® or other apps when instructed to do so in response to a suspicious check.
• Guard your personal information: Never give your online banking login, passwords, or verification codes to someone who contacts you unexpectedly.
• Use high-security checks: If you musts use physical checks, invest in high-security check stock with features like watermarks and microprint.

What to Do If You're a Victim
• Contact your bank immediately: Inform your financial institution about the fraudulent deposit.
• Report the scam: File a complain with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at reportfraud.ftc.gov and the FBI's Internet Crime Complain Center (IC3) at ic3.gov.
• Report to local police: Contact your local law enforcement to report the fraud.

‼️DON'T BE A VICTIM OF FRAUDULENT SCAMMERS!‼️

IRS PHONE SCAMS involve criminals impersonating IRS agents to steal money and personal information. They use threats and intimidation to demand immediate payment, often through untraceable methods. The IRS will never use these tactics.

Red Flags of an IRS phone scam:
• Threats of immediate arrest or deportation - Scammers may threaten to send law enforcement if you don't pay immediately. The IRS will NEVER do this.
• Demands for a specific payment method - The caller asks for payment via a gift card, wire transfer, or prepaid debit card, which are difficult to trace.
• Unsolicited call with a sense of urgency - The IRS typically initiates contact by mail, not an unexpected phone call.
• Caller ID spoofing - Scammers can manipulate caller ID to make it appear as if they are calling from an official IRS number.
• Pre-recorded or robocalls - The IRS does not leave urgent or threatening pre-recorded messages.
• Request for personal information - A scammer may ask for sensitive information like credit card or social security numbers over the phone.

What to do if you receive a scam call:
1. Hang up immediately. Do not engage with the caller or provide any information
2. Report the call to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA). Use their online form or call 1-800-366-4484.
3. Report the number to the IRS. Forward the caller's phone number to [email protected] with "IRS Phone Scam" in the subject line.
4. File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Use the FTC Complain Assistant at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and add "IRS Telephone Scam" in the notes.

How to verify if the IRS is contacting you
If you believe you may owe back taxes, contact the IRS directly using a verified, official number.
• Call the IRS at 800-829-1040 to speak with a legitimate IRS representative.
• View your tax account information online at IRS.gov to see your actual balance and payment options.
• Responding to an official letter via U.S. mail, which the IRS typically sends before making a call.
