When a business owner goes down, the business doesn't wait.

Employees start looking. Customers stop calling back. And by the time you're ready to return, the thing you built may not be there anymore.

There's a way to prevent this. More people need to know it exists.

June 1. Summer client mode.

Producers we work with tell us the same thing every year: "I'll get to the outreach in the fall, when things settle down."

Fall doesn't settle down. Q4 is rate season, AEP, and holiday distractions stacked on top of each other. The producers who finish the year strong are the ones doing client work right now, in June, when their schedule is actually quieter than they admit.

A specific suggestion for this week: pull your top 25 clients and send three of them a personal note. Not a campaign. Not an email blast. Three real notes that mention something specific you remember about them.

That's it. Three notes a week for the next 13 weeks of summer. By Labor Day you've touched your entire top tier with no campaign cost.

Carriers track activity. Referral pipelines are built by this kind of work.

If you want our outreach note templates, comment "templates" and we'll send them.

You built your business from the ground up. What's your plan if you can't show up tomorrow?

Most small business owners don't have one — and it's not their fault. Nobody told them this kind of protection exists.

Watch this clip, then watch the full video. It might be the most important 20 minutes you spend on your business this year.

Wedding season starts Sunday.

So does graduation season. So does "we just bought a house" season. So does "we're having a baby" season.

June is one of the biggest months of the year for the kind of life changes that quietly rewrite a financial plan.

If something big is shifting in your life this summer, that's the moment to look at coverage, not the moment to put it off again. New mortgage means new income to protect. New baby means new beneficiary. New marriage means new conversation.

If June has something big on the calendar for you, tag the person you're navigating it with. Then book the ten minutes to make sure the plan keeps up with the life.

What happens to your business if you're suddenly out of work for six months?

Your employees still need to be paid. Your rent is still due. Your clients are still calling.

Most small business owners never think about this until it's too late — because nobody told them there's a solution for it.

BGA Insurance Brokerage Director Steve Jones breaks it all down in this 20-minute session: what business overhead expense insurance is, who needs it, and how it works when it matters most.

If you own a business, know someone who does, or help business owners protect what they've built — this one's worth watching.

Ask most retirees what they're more afraid of: running out of money or dying. And the answer might surprise you.

It surprises most financial professionals too.

The fear of outliving your savings is reshaping how families think about retirement. And it's why the conversation around long-term care has completely changed.

This clip gets honest about both fears, and what it actually looks like to plan for the one people don't talk about enough.

Do you know what a year of long-term care actually costs in California right now?

Most people guess low. Way low.

The real numbers are the kind that make you want to have a conversation you've been putting off, and the kind that make you grateful when someone sat you down and showed you options before you needed them.

This short clip breaks it down simply. No jargon. Just the reality, and what you can do about it.

70% of people turning 65 today will need long-term care at some point. The average cost? $130,000 a year.

Most people assume their retirement savings will cover it. But a long-term care event is one of the fastest ways to deplete an estate, and most families aren't prepared.

The good news: there are strategies that can protect your assets and give you or your loved ones real options when the time comes, even if your savings are in a 401(k) or IRA.

We cover exactly this in our free weekly webinar, 20 Minute Annuity Tuesdays, hosted by Trent Zimmermann, Annuity Director at BGA Insurance.

Today we honor the people who chose protection as a profession.

The kind they did with their lives.

At BGA, our entire job is protection too, in a much smaller way. We help families and the agents who serve them think about what gets left behind, and how to make sure the people you love are taken care of when you can't be.

That work feels small next to what today is really about. But it comes from the same place. The instinct to make sure your people are okay, even when you're not the one watching over them anymore.

Today we remember. Tomorrow we keep doing the quiet work.

To every family who has carried this loss, we see you.

This weekend is about the people who didn't come home.

And about the people they left behind.

Memorial Day asks us to remember sacrifice. For the families on the receiving end of that sacrifice, the years after are quieter than the headlines.

The mortgage payment still arrives. The kids still need school clothes. The retirement that someone planned for two has to be lived by one.

Life insurance is a financial tool. What it actually buys is the ability to grieve without also having to scramble.

If you've been meaning to look at your coverage, this weekend is the right reason. Comment if you've already done it. It might be the nudge someone else needs.
