Lancaster and Bay Insurance Agency

Lancaster and Bay Insurance Agency Trusted. Local. Family-owned since 1945. Serving South Texas and the Coastal Bend with the protection you can count on. In 1945, Jack Lancaster, Sr.

opened his insurance agency after having served several years as a special agent for a large bonding company. Jack Lancaster, Jr. returned from a tour of duty in Korea to join the agency in 1952. The two operated the partnership as Jack Lancaster Agency until the elder Lancaster's death in 1977. Carol (Lyn) Lancaster joined the two in 1975, becoming partner with her father by 1982. In 1993, after

the death of Jack Lancaster, Jr. Mark Christoph, Lyn's husband, joined the agency and the name was changed to Lancaster and Bay Insurance Agency. In 2010 the two welcomed their daughter, Emily, to the business as a fourth generation agent. Today the Christoph's operate the agency with a philosophy shared with their predecessors, to maintain professional service without sacrificing the personal experience expected of an independent insurance agent and demonstrated by the Lancaster's for over 70 years.

***TWIA HAS STOPPED BINDING COVERAGE ***

Hurricane Beryl is within the 80 degrees west longitude and 20 degrees north latitude, which requires TWIA to put a policy moratorium in effect.

With the current storm trajectory, Hurricane Beryl is expected to impact TWIA’s coverage area.

What happens when a policy moratorium is in effect?
TWIA cannot issue new policies or increase coverage on existing policies or renewals.
Agents cannot quote and submit new business applications or policy changes.
Renewals can be issued by making a payment if:
There are no increases in coverage.
The due date has not passed.
When does a policy moratorium go into effect?
When there’s a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. For more information, visit www.twia.org/moratoriums.

What happens when a policy moratorium is lifted?
TWIA will begin accepting applications and payments at 12:01 a.m. the next day.
Policy moratoriums are lifted when the TWIA General Manager determines the storm no longer threatens property anywhere within the TWIA coverage area.

This system is trending quicker on it's progression across the gulf, so moving up the rainfall timing a bit. Look for tropical downpours to start overnight Monday, into Tuesday morning. Some of this will be heavy rain. Localized flooding possible.
