Still working but thinking about claiming Social Security early?

What many people donโ€™t realize is your benefits can be temporarily reduced if you claim before full retirement age and continue working over the income limit.

Before you make a decision at 62, make sure you understand how the earnings limit actually works.

Retirement planning is more than just filing for benefits โ€” timing matters.

A lot of people argue you should take Social Security early because โ€œwhat if youโ€™re not healthy enough to enjoy it later.โ€

Fair point.

But that logic assumes Social Security is meant to fund your healthiest years.

It is not.

Social Security was designed to provide income for the years you may need it most โ€” later, when working is harder, healthcare is more expensive, and your ability to recover from financial mistakes is smaller.

Taking it early because you ๐˜ฎ๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ฉ๐˜ต not make it later may feel practical.

But taking less income now can also mean having less income when retirement gets harder.

That is the part people leave out.

And that is why income planning matters.

Not just claiming early because it feels safer.
Not just waiting because someone said you should
Income planning is a strategic decision.
And good retirement income does not "happen by happenstance".

It Happens By Strategy

Most people were taught

Retirement should feel secureโ€ฆ
until the storm hits. ๐ŸŒช๏ธ

Market risk doesnโ€™t just affect investmentsโ€”
it affects your income and your growth.

Some people donโ€™t need income yetโ€”
they want protected growth without the ups and downs of the market.

Others need to turn their savings into reliable income that lasts.

And many want all three:

~growth, protection, and income.

Thatโ€™s why thereโ€™s no one-size-fits-all plan. You donโ€™t fight the stormโ€ฆ

~you shield against it.

Protecting Income. Preserving Legacy.

โ—‡ Want to see if your plan is built to withstand the storm?

One of the biggest concerns retirees have is making sure their income lasts.

Certain retirement strategies are designed to provide income you cannot outlive, helping create a stable foundation for essential expenses like housing, food, and healthcare.

When income planning, principal protection, and thoughtful investment strategies work together, retirement can become less about uncertainty and more about confidence.

Every retirement plan should be personalized.

If you'd like to explore how these strategies might fit into your own retirement plan, I welcome the opportunity to connect.

Many people approaching retirement donโ€™t realize how much market risk they may still be carrying.

One concept worth understanding is "Principal Protection".

Principal protection means your original investment is not exposed to market losses. When markets decline, protected assets remain stable.

For many retirees, having a portion of their portfolio positioned this way can help reduce volatility and provide greater confidence during uncertain markets.

In the next video, weโ€™ll discuss another important concept: "Guaranteed Income".

What's New! 2026 Medicare Annual Enrollment

ใ€‹Part B Premium ecoected to increase to $206.50, from 2025 $185

๐Ÿ’ŠThe out-of-pocket cap for prescriptions will increase slightly โ€” from $2,000 to $2,100.
Once you hit that cap, you wonโ€™t pay anything more for covered drugs the rest of the year.

ใ€‹Part D drug deductibles may rise too.

โ€ผ๏ธ Good news! Thereโ€™s a new Prescription Payment Plan โ€” letting you spread your drug costs monthly instead of paying all at once at the pharmacy.

โ€ข Some Medicare Advantage and Part D plans are being dropped or changed by insurance companies.
โš ๏ธ That means you may need to review and/or switch your plan during Open Enrollment (Oct 15 โ€“ Dec 7).

โ€ข In certain states, Traditional Medicare will start requiring prior approval for some services โ€” so make sure your provider checks before scheduling care.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Why does this matter? Because higher premiums and fewer plan choices can really impact anyone living on a fixed income or relying on consistent coverage.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ So hereโ€™s what to do:

Review your current plan now.

Compare 2026 options during enrollment.

Watch for letters from your plan โ€” donโ€™t ignore them!

Ask questions and get help if youโ€™re unsure.

๐Ÿ’ก Medicare is changing, but you donโ€™t have to figure it out alone. Stay informed, stay prepared โ€” and Iโ€™ll keep sharing updates as they come.
