It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Marcia Ann Brewster Rhodes.
Marcia began her remarkable career with State Farm under Bonnard Eaton, where she faithfully served for 27 years until his passing. She then continued her dedication with Penn Majors State Farm for another 14 years, blessing coworkers and customers alike for more than four decades.
Though Marcia often referred to herself simply as a “secretary,” everyone who knew her understood she was so much more. She was the quiet strength behind the scenes, the one who could answer any question, the steady voice of reassurance, and a true friend to all who walked through the door. Her devotion to her work was evident every single day—but it was only a small reflection of the devotion she poured into her family, her friends, and her walk with the Lord.
Marcia was a wonderful mother whose absence will be deeply felt by her three boys, her many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She spent countless evenings cheering them on at ballgames, school events, pageants, and every milestone in between. Her pride in her family was unmistakable and unwavering.
She was a cherished member of Gaines Chapel Church, where her faith shined as brightly as her kindness.
In honoring Marcia, we are reminded of Colossians 4:6:
“Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”
Marcia lived these words daily—speaking with kindness, offering wisdom, and bringing grace into every interaction.
Marcia’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, and a servant’s heart. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Please join us in keeping her family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
