Leatherstocking Credit Union was out early this morning at West Capitol Park in Albany, N.Y. volunteering alongside New York State’s Credit Unions and Habitat for Humanity of New York State for Capitol Build Day 2026. Capitol Build Day takes place on the grounds of the N.Y.S. Capitol, where volunteers begin building the walls of what will become an actual home for a Habitat for Humanity partner family right here in New York! C.E.O., Anoel Kelly, Director of Compliance & Special Projects, Matt Marrotta & Asst. Director of Marketing, Ben Kelly attended the build. Capitol Build Day is a shining example of the credit union philosophy “People Helping People” and LCU could not be happier to volunteer for this event.

Leatherstocking Credit Union is proud to announce that we have donated $10,000 to help kickstart a new Bassett Healthcare Network Employee Assistance Fund. The "In It Together" campaign was established by the Friends of Bassett to create a fund to help Bassett employees through difficult moments, so that they may regain/retain stability and continue their vital work.

Leatherstocking Credit Union was established as Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital FCU in 1977, formed by the employees of MIBH and served the financial needs of the employees of MIBH. With this $10,000 fund sponsorship we reflect on our origins, while continuing to enrich the people in the communities that Bassett Healthcare Network & Leatherstocking Credit Union share.

Since 2016, Hank has been instrumental in guiding Leatherstocking Credit Union's growth by working alongside our Board of Directors to implement achievable strategic goals. He also ensures that his fellow employees are happy and healthy, so that they may provide the best service to our members.
