Skills nobody told me I'd need as a mortgage lender

Here is the part actually worth saying out loud: all of that is what the job looks like when it is going well.

Closing feels easy because somebody caught the missing page early, asked about the deposit before underwriting did, and already explained escrow twice so it was not a surprise on closing day.

It looks like paperwork and small talk. It is really just preparation happening in public.

If Mortgage Loans had dating profiles

Every loan in Cooper City has a type. Turns out, so do you.

Conventional rewards strong credit and a solid down payment, and it is usually the easiest one to outgrow mortgage insurance on.

FHA gives you more room on credit and down payment, in exchange for mortgage insurance and stricter rules on the house itself.

VA is worth a close look if you are eligible, so do not skip it just because nobody mentioned it.
