Have I done all of these? No 😂 but I’m working on it.
I’m not saying I have everything figured out either, but I finance a lot of people in their 20s and these are some of the common denominators I’ve noticed in the ones who are able to buy a home.
Good credit + not having a huge car payment.
Consistent income + staying at the same job for a few years.
Having assets and treating your 401k or IRA like a forced savings account.
And my bonus tip: be realistic about your purchase price. Just because you qualify for a certain amount doesn’t mean you need to spend that much.
I’m still figuring out my own finances too, but I get to see what works for other people every day. These are just a few things I’ve noticed. 🏡
