Saw this take and I have to give credit where it’s due — it’s one of the most honest things I’ve read about homeownership in a long time.

“Boomers had it way easier buying houses. They also dined out 3 times a year, never traveled, and worked overtime all the time.”
He’s not wrong.

Boomers didn’t have it easy. They played a different game — and that game had a lot of sacrifice in it. Less eating out. Less “treat yourself.” More overtime. More boring. More consistency.

Meanwhile we act shocked that $14 coffees and $1,200 car notes don’t build a down payment.

Now — housing IS harder now. I deal with the numbers every day. Prices, rates, and supply are real problems. I’m not pretending otherwise.

But here’s the truth nobody wants to say out loud: lifestyle inflation is real too. We didn’t just get priced out of homeownership. A lot of us got soft about the sacrifice it takes to get there.

So I’ll ask you straight up:
🏠 Did the market get worse?
🧾 Or did we get softer about sacrifice?
