Friday Spotlight on Health!

VITAMIN D

Did you know your body can only absorb calcium when vitamin D is present? Vitamin D is cool because its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and neuroprotective properties support immune health, muscle function and brain cell activity. WOW.

According to Mayo Clinic, the recommended daily amount of vitamin D is 400 international units (IU) for children up to age 12 months, 600 IU for people ages 1 to 70 years, and 800 IU for people over 70 years.

You can get vitamin D naturally, but that can be hard if most of your day is spent working inside or if you don't eat the foods it is found in. Supplementing is a great way to make sure you are getting the right amount. Talk with your doctor if you think you are deficient. A simple blood test will let you know.

After a successful transplant, we are back in the office full time!

Good timing because we are in the middle of "Covid Special Enrollment Period."

The American Rescue Plan was passed back in March opening an enrollment window for those without coverage. Consumers in Wisconsin have until August 15th to take advantage of this enrollment period.
