✨ Monday Mortgage Market Update – Week of December 8 ✨
Hi everyone — Brian here with The Elkins Group bringing you your weekly look at what’s happening in the mortgage world. 🏡📉

It’s Fed Week once again.
The Federal Reserve will announce their Interest Rate Decision this Wednesday, and all eyes are on what Chair Powell says during his 2:30 PM press conference. 🎤

Powell’s comments historically create market volatility, so we could see some movement in mortgage rates mid-week. 📊⚠️

👉 What to Watch For:
• A shift in the Fed’s tone on inflation
• Any hint about future rate cuts
• Market reaction Wednesday afternoon into Thursday

📣 Monday Mortgage Market Update – Week of 11/17/2025

The government is finally re-opened, but we’re still waiting on the delayed economic data to catch up.
📊 The Fed says September job numbers should be released sometime this week — but no word yet on October.

🔍 CME Group is projecting a 42.9% chance of a rate cut at the Fed’s 12/10 meeting.

Meanwhile, some Fed members claim the labor market is “strong,” yet last week’s ADP report shows the economy added an average of only 3,333 jobs per month over the last 3 months.

📰 Friday’s headline about Verizon laying off 15% of their workforce made waves… but the details tell a different story.
They’re converting 200 corporate stores into authorized retailers — meaning those employees are shifted off Verizon’s payroll, not all eliminated.

⏳ The next few weeks will be interesting as the backlog of data is released. We’ll be watching closely to see if the Fed’s tone changes as the real numbers come in.
