Each year on Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who gave their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. On this day, Americans pause to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Traditionally, the American flag is raised briskly to the top of the staff, then lowered to half-staff until noon. This symbolizes remembrance of the service members who have died in service. At noon, the flag is raised to full staff for the remainder of the day. This act represents the nation's resilience and commitment to honor their sacrifice. It also serves as a reminder to continue striving for liberty and justice for all.
