What is Leukemia?

September is Leukemia Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about one of the most common blood cancers affecting both children and adults and one close to our hearts!

Leukemia begins in the bone marrow, where blood cells are made. It causes abnormal white blood cells to grow uncontrollably, making it harder for the body to fight infection, carry oxygen, and stop bleeding.

Early diagnosis can make a significant difference. Learning the warning signs and encouraging regular medical care can help save lives.

Together, we can spread awareness, support patients and families, and honor those who continue to fight.

As you may know, it’s almost time for Medicare’s annual enrollment period (AEP), a key opportunity to alter your Medicare health and prescription drug plans for the upcoming year. The Medicare AEP runs from October 15th to December 7th every year, making now a potentially advantageous time to review your current coverage and plan ahead for any changes next year.

Thinking about this now, before the period opens, can make the process easier and give you enough time to compare options and make an informed decision about your care. Swipe for a few areas to revisit as you prepare for the beginning of the AEP.

A little preparation now can make the process simpler and help you choose coverage that fits your needs. That said, if you’d like to go over your current plan, feel free to reach out. We are always here to help you carefully assess your needs so you can make an informed decision.

✔️ Schedule your HVAC inspection to keep your system running efficiently.

🤔 What's the Difference?

When it comes to Medicare, one size doesn't fit all. Understanding the difference between Medicare Supplement (Medigap) and Medicare Advantage can help you choose the coverage that best fits your healthcare needs and budget.

Medicare Supplement (Medigap):
✔️ Works alongside Original Medicare
✔️ Helps cover certain out-of-pocket costs
✔️ Typically offers more provider flexibility
✔️ Prescription drug coverage is usually purchased separately

Medicare Advantage (Part C):
✔️ An alternative to Original Medicare offered by private insurance companies
✔️ Often includes prescription drug coverage
✔️ May include additional benefits like dental, vision, or hearing
✔️ Uses provider networks that vary by plan

The right choice depends on your healthcare needs, budget, preferred doctors, prescription medications and long term goals for your care.

Not sure which option is right for you? We're here to help you understand your choices and make Medicare easier to navigate.

💡 Medicare Myth vs. Fact

Myth: Medicare covers all your healthcare expenses.

Fact: Original Medicare doesn't cover everything. You may still be responsible for deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and prescription drug costs. That's why it's important to understand your options and choose the coverage that best fits your needs.
