Storm rolled through and now your roof looks… questionable?
Before you rush to file an insurance claim, here’s the smart move
✔️ Get repair estimates FIRST
✔️ Compare damage vs your deductible
✔️ Understand that even small claims still go on your record
Here’s the part most people don’t realize…
Too many claims (even small ones) can make insurance harder to get or more expensive later
A few quick tips to protect yourself:
🏠 Tree removal is usually only covered if it hits a structure
🥶 Food spoilage claims might not be worth it
⚠️ Don’t combine old damage with new storms — they count separately
🚫 Never sign an “assignment of interest” with a contractor
And please… be careful with door knockers after storms. Local + trusted always wins.
Bottom line — File claims when it makes sense… not just when it’s possible.
