Last week, we celebrated the grand opening of Touchstone Field Place. A 56-unit permanent supportive housing project in Columbus, Ohio. Developed and managed by our partners at Community Housing Network, Inc., Touchstone Field Place will provide serviced enriched housing to their resident.

Last week, OCCH had the opportunity to work alongside Habitat for Humanity of Ohio to make a difference in our community at the Ohio State House Build. Our dedicated team members, along with many other organizations, helped build the walls for a new home for a first-time homeowner family. Witnessing our collective efforts throughout the day and the first floor of the house displayed in front of the Statehouse was a truly rewarding experience.

Habitat for Humanity is an organization that partners with communities, families, and volunteers to build homes and promote a sense of community. By providing residents with the knowledge to maintain their homes and keeping them at affordable rates, they empower families to achieve sustainable homeownership.

We are proud to have contributed to this cause and made a positive impact in someone's life. Thank you to Habitat for Humanity of Ohio for providing us with the opportunity to give back and work towards creating more housing opportunities for all.

It's our pleasure to welcome Lamia Jefferson as our newest fellow at OCCH through the Open Access Fellowship! Lamia recently graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, specializing in Environmental Public Health. Her passions to further the improvement of housing and health in underserved communities are truly inspiring.

Open Access is an amazing initiative focused on increasing diversity and representation within community development companies. As part of this program, OCCH is committed to supporting professionals of all backgrounds and levels. We're proud to be part of this important work alongside many other great organizations.

We are thrilled to be able to support Lamia's growth and development in our industry. As a fellow, she will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience, and we are excited to see the important contributions she'll make to our work.

Happy International Women's Day! Today, we are shining a spotlight on the amazing women who make up our team and recognizing their contributions to OCCH's success. In addition, we would like to honor the many women who have and continue to pave the pathway for us through their outstanding achievements in social, economic, cultural, and political spheres.

As we celebrate, it is important to acknowledge that many women still face challenges, especially regarding affordable housing. Women are disproportionately affected by housing, which can impact their economic stability, health, and overall well-being.
