National Black Business Month Spotlight: KC’s Southern Soul & More
In recognition of National Black Business Month, the NAACP and First Farmers are proud to spotlight KC’s Southern Soul & More—a local restaurant rooted in family, flavor, and community.
Owner Kim Cathey’s love for cooking began with her mother, who inspired her to turn a lifelong passion into a business.
For Cathey, the heart of KC’s is simple: bringing people together around good food. Whether guests are laughing, talking, or simply enjoying a meal, she says seeing people happy around the table is what makes the work meaningful.
If you have not visited KC’s Southern Soul & More yet, Cathey recommends starting with the hot honey catfish—but she adds that everything on the menu is worth trying.
This August, join us in celebrating and supporting Black-owned businesses like KC’s Southern Soul & More. Their stories, service, and contributions help make our community stronger.
