We were proud to partner with the Nashville Business Incubation Center (NBIC) and the NAACP to host a successful Business Banking Workshop at First Farmers & Merchants Bank.

Attendees gained valuable insights on business growth, financial fundamentals, and entrepreneurial success from presenters Carlos Partee and Christian Dickson. The event brought together 20 engaged participants and highlighted the continued demand for resources that support local entrepreneurs and small businesses.

In recognition of National Black Business Month, the NAACP and First Farmers are proud to spotlight KC’s Southern Soul & More—a local restaurant rooted in family, flavor, and community.

Owner Kim Cathey’s love for cooking began with her mother, who inspired her to turn a lifelong passion into a business.

For Cathey, the heart of KC’s is simple: bringing people together around good food. Whether guests are laughing, talking, or simply enjoying a meal, she says seeing people happy around the table is what makes the work meaningful.

If you have not visited KC’s Southern Soul & More yet, Cathey recommends starting with the hot honey catfish—but she adds that everything on the menu is worth trying.
