Neighbors, FYI, I have put in a work order request for the no parking sign to be replaced at the entrance to Woodcrest subdivision. Squeaky wheels get oil, so I’m hoping that more of you will also put the same request in so that they can replace our sign.

Good Morning!

The National Hurricane Center has issued a possible flooding in our area. Rainfall and high winds are expected to affect the southeastern United States Thursday (today) and Friday, and flooding is expected to affect coastal South Carolina on Thursday. With the upcoming storm warning for this weekend, we are asking homeowners to prepare their properties. Below are a few things that you should do to prepare for the storm.

Prepare your property by:

Removing items from your deck, porch, and yard that may become projectiles or be blown away in high winds.Securing trash cans.Turning off any irrigation systems to prepare for heavy rainfall and saturated soil.Inspecting swales, ditches, and grates for vegetation or debris that may cause a backup of water. Please clear these areas of debris.Ensure you have candles, flashlights, back up batteries and a few jugs of water should power go out for a short time.In the event of power outages, downed lines or gas leaks please contact Dominion EnergyDowned power lines? Residents,

As most of you
are aware our covenants contain a “No Solicitation” policy. We even have signs at our entrances. Over the years we have been
active with the help of our courtesy patrol, in asking solicitors to leave Lake Carolina. It has recently been brought to
our attention that if a solicitor has a “Peddler’s License”, they have the
right to approach our homes, knock on our doors, and solicitate the sale of
their goods and/or services. The sheriff’s department has informed us that they
are not responsible for enforcing neighborhood specific restrictions, and the
board cannot overrule a Peddler’s license. It is up to each individual
homeowner to enforce the restriction.

Since the
covenants restrict us from placing signs in our yards a small sticker that is visible from your front porch works. Display of this sticker
makes it illegal for the Peddler to knock on your door and attempt to sell
their products. Using the sticker is completely optional and if you
choose not to that is ok. However, we felt obligated to offer a solution
to our residents if they choose to use it. If you would like a sticker, please stop by our office (100 Lake Carolina Blvd) and pick one up.

As of 1pm on Saturday June 19 the projected track for Tropical Storm Claudette sends it across the Columbia area on its way to North Carolina where a Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for the North Carolina Coast.

In anticipation of this system passing through, all homeowners are encouraged to stow away trash cans, patio furniture and other loose exterior items outside the home.

You should be prepared for the possibility of heavy periods of rain which could cause isolated flooding on roadways. Please take caution if you find it necessary to travel during this storm.

Dear Board,

It is with bittersweet feelings that I must tell you that I will be leaving my position as a Community Manager at CAMS as of May 26th 2021 . At this time, I have decided to take on another role with the company that will allow me to move back home and be with family while still working remote for CAMS.

Your new manager will be John Black. He is copied on this email. I know you will be more than satisfied with his service and well taken care of. Additionally, our Regional Vice President, Ronda Bossert, who is copied on this email, is available to help assist in making this a smooth process.

I am preparing a list of all open items and projects to be completed moving forward, as well as your community info and concerns, as a guideline for my successor.
