On September 11, 2001, a regular Tuesday morning turned into one of the darkest days in our Nation's history. Today, we pause to remember the lives lost in the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and a field in Shanksville, PA.

We also honor the heroes, who rushed into danger to save lives and defend our Country that day and in the days that followed.

Let us never forget the tragic loss and bold sacrifice of that day.
