I wanted to wish my wife, Casey, Happy Birthday! She has been so supportive over the years. As you know, I work in the insurance field; I also coach high school volleyball in town. With all that life brings our way she has always cheered me on! Happy Birthday, Casey!

Last Spring, Casey was invited to participate in an episode of the Christmas Cookie Challenge on the Food Network (Season 8 Episode 1). I was able to go to filming in Burbank (I was not allowed on set), 5 days she worked on the episode while I did the Hollywood hike, visited nearby areas, walked around Burbank. During my walk I ran into Monica Potter, I told her this is the first day of filming for my wife and she has never done something like this before. Monica was really nice, we talked for 10 minutes or so. She wished Casey good luck and asked if I wanted a picture to surprise her with because I had said we loved streaming Parenthood and thought Monica was so good in that series, Monica says "why don't we do a video?" I said "okay!" She started the song with "Casey, Casey, Casey, you are going to win the show!" I was amazed that she would do this for us. After a long day of filming and processing what was actually going on, it made Casey's day watching the video. What an amazing experience for Casey, for both of us!

I can't wait to see what we get ourselves into during this next year of life, Happy Birthday, Casey!

Last week I sent out hundreds of emails to the educators in the surrounding area offering guidance regarding their Washington state retirement, Idaho (PERSI) program and life insurance. I concluded with a question- “Do you know my father? If so, I would love to hear how your paths have crossed over the years! Looking forward to meeting you!” Thank you to everyone who responded! The stories I have heard have been great and exactly why I included the question.
If you have not received an email yet and are a teacher in the area, be on the lookout. I had so much fun reading the stories! I am going to reach out to more schools in hopes to hear more tales and meet more people. Thanks again!

Happy Fourth of July!
