Bundling your insurance policies with one company has several advantages:

Most companies offer a multi-line discount on every policy you sign with the when you have multiple policies with them. These savings can add up when you need to insure multiple lines such as home, auto, recreational vehicles etc.

You only need to go through one company for all of your insurance needs. This means less paperwork, less phone numbers to call, and a simpler renewal process.

You can get an umbrella policy from that company in order to give yourself an additional layer of liability coverage in the case that a claim exceeds an underlying policy's limits. Getting an umbrella policy from the same company as the one you have your other policies through is generally less expensive as well.

There are certain cases where it certainly makes sense to have different policies with different companies, but it is always good to see if bundling is the best direction as well.

Flood insurance is a relatively inexpensive endorsement you can add to your homeowners insurance that provides very valuable coverage.

If you are in a flood zone, most mortgage companies will require flood insurance; however, even if you are not in a flood zone, flood insurance can still be beneficial!

In 2015, Colorado springs experienced a 100-year rainstorm that lead to flooding in homes that were outide of designated flood zones. What most people were unaware of is that standard homeowners insurance does not cover water coming from the outside of the dwelling, so anyone who had this happen and did not have flood insurance had to cover the resulting expenses out of pocket.
