Good morning everyone! At the beginning of the year I reopened my bookkeeping business and took on a small number of clients.

We spent most of the year, creating financial projections, learning about cash flow, and learning how to understand our numbers through the reports that we look at monthly.

My clients got direct access to me whenever they had a question. My clients got answers and resources so they were educated on the topics they needed to learn about.

I run a Nonprofit and I’m proud to say by 15 January, I had accomplished the following:
1) All income was tracked in categories based on restricted grants, unrestricted grants, different types of sponsorship income, revenue generatimg categories, individual contributions, corporate contributions, board contributions, and in kind donations.
2) all expenses were categorized to match the budget that had been board approved for the year.
3) fundraising costs were categorized as cost of goods sold.
4) and expenses were tracked if they applied to restricted funds by that particular restricted grant.

My books are ready to close for the year and ready for our accountant. My 1099s were filed 15 days early. All my payroll taxes were filed on time. Any required Grant reporting was done with ease. And my 2026 budget is entered and ready to run budget vs actual reports for my board this year.
