North Penn Federal Credit Union

North Penn Federal Credit Union This is the home page for North Penn Federal Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial institution founded in 1955 by the employees of North Penn Transfer.

A credit union is a not-for-profit financial institution governed by a board of directors, elected by and from its membership. North Penn FCU is federally chartered and regulated by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The NCUA annually audits and rates each credit union's operations and insures savings accounts up to $250,000.00
Credit unions are made up of people with a common bond-s

omething that draws them together-a place of employment, an organization, a church, etc. We are not a bank, not a labor union, not a credit bureau but we are a local financial institution that is ready to meet your financial needs with lower fees or no fees and prompt friendly service. Come by and visit us anytime and ask about membership!

Hello! It's your credit union lady here. Today we'll stop for a minute to share our thanks with Ashley on her 9th year of work with the credit union! You know we have had some turnover in our lead teller position, and Ashley has been either training a new employee or covering two positions simultaneously. Through it all, she has shared a smile or a chat with lots of us while still getting all of the work done on time and accurately. Thanks to Ellie for sharing your Mom with us. We appreciate her! Onward to year 10. πŸ˜€

A chuckle for today.

Hello! It's your credit union lady here. Remember when we were kids, and our mom would tell us something and we did not listen? BUT if that same advice was shared by someone else? It was magic and so worthwhile! 😁 I'm using that theory today to share something from an online creator who shares some great advice. If you're in the market for a car, give it a listen! And then, call your credit union for your pre-approval. πŸ˜‰ We understand that financing right at the dealership is very handy. It can also be very expensive. We are seeing rates well above the average interest on some deals. Don't negotiate monthly payments! Look at the whole deal, including interest rate, trade-in value, and cost of the new car. Give us a call to check book values on your trade or on your new car. Be an informed credit union member!

Hello! It's your credit union lady here. Dropping by to say merry Christmas in July. Maybe listen to some holiday music this weekend? Or could we pretend it's holiday time and just share an extra smile with everyone we meet over the next few days? They're free, so your financial lady approves!

Hello! It's your credit union lady! I wanted to let you know that we have supported a summer project at Keystone Opportunity Center this year. Using the same cooperative spirit that credit unions use, they worked in conjunction with Penn State Master Gardeners and a local church, which supplied the space. They offered garden access to folks who wanted to learn how to grow their own veggies but did not have space to do so. They asked for community support for supplies and water. Perfect! We gladly helped out. See how their gardens grow! We can accomplish much when we work together. How's your garden doing?

Hello! It's your credit union lady. Remember when it was cold,

and we could not wait for warmer weather? Hmmm. Someone wished a little too hard for those warmer temps, and here they come. Please be careful in the heat. If you are in the area of the office, stop by for a bottle of cool water or a cooling towel. They're great. You wet the towels, wring them out, give them a snap, and then place them on your head or neck. They stay cool for hours. If you need to come in but would rather not leave your car, give us a call, and we'll come out to you. Check on your neighbors and friends. Stay safe, and before you know it, it will be time to put up the holiday decorations! πŸŽ„

Hello! It's your credit union lady here with a more serious topic today. We would like to be sure that you are aware of a recent fraud trend in which the scammer calls you, claims that your financial institution is under investigation, and asks for your help to catch employees doing something wrong. Don't ask any questions of the staff. Of course, they will lie because, again, the institution is under investigation. Just wire out those funds, and the scammers will be sure to send them back to you later. Thanks so much for your help!
Of course, the reality is that your financial institution is not under investigation, and your funds are now gone and cannot be retrieved. We have been lucky and have not had members who have fallen for this, but others have lost large sums of money.
If you or your parents, as this is often a scam geared to our more senior folks, get such a call, do not take the requested actions. Rather, check with your local police department or the NCUA for credit unions, the OCC for banks, or your state department of banking. Please be careful and take a moment to think about what is being asked of you, and don't keep secrets. Talk to friends. Talk to family. Talk to the police. Keep your funds safe.

Hello! It's your credit union lady here. This Sunday is Father's Day and in honor of all of the girl Dads, boy Dads, puppy Dads, kitty Dads, uncles, brothers, basically all of the dudes, here is a Dad joke. What do you call a dog in a submarine? (I'll wait a moment.) A subwoofer! Got any good Dad jokes? Feel free to share in the comments. Hope you all enjoy your day!
