This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice secures our freedoms and reminds us of the true cost of liberty.

Our offices will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of the day. We’ll reopen Tuesday, ready to serve you. In the meantime, our online and mobile banking services are always available, and so are our ATMs.

We love seeing financial literacy brought to life in the classroom. Thank you to Christi Adams from our Downtown Memphis office for spending time with the 4th graders at Sheffield Elementary and helping students build smart money habits early.

What a wonderful day at our Collierville office! Thank you to everyone who stopped by our adoption event on Saturday to meet these sweet animals and support our local shelter.

We’re excited to share that the shelter received about 10 adoption applications because of the event. That’s what community is all about: coming together to support each other and help animals find loving homes.

A special thank you to Kaci Herrera and her Collierville Animal Shelter team, fosters, volunteers and everyone who helped make the day such a success. We were so happy to be part of it.

Senior Fraud Awareness: Simple Steps to Help Protect Loved Ones

Scammers are becoming more convincing, and older adults are often among their targets. With National Senior Fraud Awareness Day on May 15 and World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15, it is a good time to talk with parents, grandparents, neighbors and friends about how to recognize fraud and financial exploitation.

A few simple reminders can make a big difference:
• Never share personal or financial information with someone who contacts you unexpectedly.
• Slow down before sending money.
• Be cautious of urgent requests involving gift cards, wire transfers or cryptocurrency
• Always verify the details before making a payment, especially if the request creates fear or pressure.

The U.S. Secret Service also offers helpful tips to prevent elder fraud.

If you believe someone may be a victim of elder fraud, report it to local law enforcement, the Federal Trade Commission or the Internet Crime Complaint Center.
