From the AccuWeather forecast, wind advisories and severe thunderstorm risks are present today through tomorrow. There is also a significant risk of tornadoes this afternoon through Thursday morning. There is also a major flooding threat from today through the weekend. Do not panic, but you do need to have a plan in place.

✅Make sure you have a place to take shelter and that all household members know where to go and what to do. Generally, the safest spot is the lowest floor of your home away from windows and doors. Since this will go through the night, if you have children who sleep upstairs, you may want to bring them downstairs tonight. The saturated ground and potentially strong winds increase the chances of trees falling over.

✅Make sure you are getting weather alerts and notifications on your devices.

✅Make sure your devices are charged.

✅Make sure any storm drains are clear of debris.

✅Any outdoor items need to be secured.

✅Be aware of potential flash flooding if you are on the roadways. Flash flooding can potentially create strong moving water that can sweep away vehicles and people.

Roads are going to be slick. Be careful if you have to be out today.

Road Update – 8:15 AM

Due to freezing rain and sleet before the snowfall, ice is present underneath the snow, making roads extremely slick. With temperatures only reaching a high of 26°F today, conditions may worsen throughout the day.

As more vehicles get on the roadways, we are starting to see the ice come into play, creating dangerous driving conditions.

If you don’t have to be out, please stay home!

Stay safe and use extreme caution if travel is necessary!

We are thrilled to announce that Ansley Kee has joined The Insurance Shoppe of TN.
