Clean-Up Week Continues -
Dumpsters are lined up, and the Tree Dump is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday to dispose of bulky items as well as tree debris.

This Day in History -
It was 126 years ago today the Dalton Gang rode into Coffeyville with their plan to rob two banks. During a 12-minute gun battle, 8 people lost their lives. Four of those were Coffeyville citizens defending their town. The plaza area where the two banks were located has been transformed and is ready for the annual event which honors those citizens killed. Dalton Defenders Days gets underway at 4 p.m. today with concessions and vendors open for business. The first of 4 re-enactments will be at 6 p.m.

Coffeyville's water source - The Verdigris River pumping station where the water process begins. In 2017, there were 1,190,000,000 gallons of water produced. The City of Coffeyville has 180 miles of water lines to maintain. In addition to Coffeyville residents and businesses, the city also serves Dearing and South Coffeyville, 5 rural water districts and CVR.

The river level was about 3 feet this morning. Note to CE 6th grade parents: the pumping station was pointed out to CE students, however, it was not part of the tour.
