For people on Medicare, the Annual Election Period (AEP) begins Oct.15 and last through Dec.7th. This is the time to review and possibly change your MA (Medicare Advantage) plan or your stand-alone Rx plan, PDP (Prescription Drug Plan). Any plan changes would be effective Jan.1, 2023.
People with Medigap or Medicare Supplement plans normally review plans me before or within 30 days after their annual birthday, with the new plan effective the 1st of the month following their birthday. This is true in both Oregon and Idaho. Applications within the proper time frame guarantees acceptance without having to answer health questions or disclosing medications.
