💊 Good news for those ordering prescriptions from international pharmacies!

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has extended the deadline for new international mail requirements from October 22, 2026, to January 20, 2027!

This 90-day extension gives pharmacies and shipping providers additional time to prepare and work toward solutions that could help prevent interruptions in prescription deliveries.

What does this mean for you? If you rely on lower-cost medications from Canadian or other international pharmacies, you have more time to plan ahead.

Open Enrollment season is near! Mark your calendars:

-Medicare Annual Election Period: October 15 – December 7
-Idaho Individual Health Insurance Marketplace (non-Medicare): October 15 – December 15
-Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) states: November 1 – January 15

If you purchase prescription medications from a Canadian or international pharmacy, new U.S. customs requirements beginning October 22 could affect some shipments. This does not mean all Canadian medications are being banned, but delays or disruptions are possible.

If you’re due for a refill, contact your pharmacy now. And please do not skip doses or ration your medication because of concerns about shipping.

Also, remember that Medicare Annual Enrollment (AEP) is October 15 – December 7. This is your opportunity to review your Medicare coverage for 2027. Plans, premiums, benefits, provider networks and prescription drug coverage can change from year to year.
