With storms in the forecast, here are 5 quick tips to protect your home, car, and pets:
1️⃣ Move Vehicles to Safety. Park cars in a garage or under sturdy cover to protect them from hail damage. If no garage is available, consider thick blankets or a hail cover.
2️⃣ Secure Outdoor Items. Bring in patio furniture, grills, and decorations. Strong winds can turn loose items into dangerous projectiles.
3️⃣ Protect Windows & Doors. Close blinds/curtains and stay away from windows during severe storms. If you have shutters, close them before the storm arrives.
4️⃣ Bring Pets Indoors 🐶🐱Never leave pets outside during severe weather. Prepare a safe indoor space for them away from windows and keep their carriers nearby.
5️⃣ Know Your Safe Spot. Identify the safest place in your home—usually a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor with no windows. Have flashlights, water, and a phone ready.
