A new wave of text and email scams is circulating, with messages pretending to be from the Wisconsin DMV or toll agencies. These messages often claim you have an “outstanding traffic citation,” “unpaid toll,” or balance due and include a fraudulent link to collect payment.

Important Reminder:
The Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles will never contact you by text or email to request payment for citations or fees.
Legitimate toll agencies also do not send unsolicited payment links via text messages.

Real-World Example:
You might receive a text message like:
“WI DMV ALERT: You have an unpaid traffic citation. Failure to pay today will result in license suspension. Pay now: http://wi-dmv-payments[.]com”
Or:
“Toll Notice: You have an outstanding toll balance of $6.75. Avoid late fees by paying immediately: http://fasttollpay[.]net”

These messages are fraudulent. The links often lead to fake websites designed to steal your:
- Credit card information
- Personal details
- Login credentials

What You Should Do:
- Do NOT click any links in these messages
- Do NOT provide personal or payment information
- Report the message as spam on your device
- Delete the message immediately

Stay Vigilant:
Scammers rely on urgency and fear—threatening fines, penalties, or license suspension—to pressure quick action. Always verify any unexpected message through official websites or known contact methods.

Great news!

Farm policyholders: For the 10th year in a row, a 5% dividend has been declared by the Board of Directors for Rural Mutual Insurance 🚜

An estimated $4.4 million will be paid out upon renewal to eligible 2025 policyholders, bringing our total dividends paid to $31.9 million since the program began in 2017. When our farms succeed, Wisconsin stays strong. Thank you for trusting us to help protect your farms, your families, and your legacy!
