I am very proud to be a sponsor the Clinton HS Culinary Arts program. They are preparing to go to Baltimore for the National ProStart Invitational, a culinary competition for high school students. Forty-six teams will compete from around the country. Clinton HS will represent Mississippi. Each team will have one hour to make a meal and present it. Good Luck to the Culinary Arrows! In December of 1989, I remember that the temperature stayed in the single digits for several days around the Christmas holiday. Pipes all over Jackson and the surrounding area burst in the ceiling while people were out of town visiting family. This water poured through the sheetrock ceiling and onto the floor flooding the house and ruining furniture and personal belongings.

It has been very cold today and will carry on for the remainder of the week. Make sure to have your outside faucets wrapped or covered in some way. Also, please keep your faucets dripping or slightly running. It can be a good idea to keep a cabinet door open below sinks where there is piping, especially for the next couple of nights. This allows the warmth of the house to get to your pipes.

ACC is once again bringing the THACKER MOUNTAIN RADIO HOUR to Clinton.
