The 7 Baby Steps:

ONE: Save $1,000 for a starter emergency fund.

TWO: Pay off all debt (except for the house) using the debt snowball.

THREE: Save 3–6 months of expenses in a fully funded emergency fund.

FOUR: Invest 15% of your household income in retirement.

FIVE: Save for your children's college fund.

SIX: Pay off your home early.

SEVEN: Build wealth and give.

7 Steps. That’s it. A simple plan, and it works EVERY time. But it’s a lot easier said than done. To complete these, you’ve got to decide you’re going to DO it. Day in and day out, you’ve drawn a line in the sand, and you are NOT going back.
