What are the primary differences between HMO and PPO?

HMO’s generally have lower monthly premiums, have one primary care physician, lower prescription costs, ideal for people that don’t forsee frequent doctor visits.

PPO’s have higher monthly premiums, no referral for a specialist needed, don’t have to select a primary care physician, have larger networks than HMOs.
