One of the greatest joys in my life is being able to coach sports for a couple of reasons. First, In my opinion, sports make better humans. So I feel like I have a hand in creating the next generation of leaders who know how to work hard even when they don't"feel like it". Athletes learn how to rely on others and have others rely on them. They learn about consistency and self discipline. And they understand the rewards of measuring and achieving goals. Secondly, coaching takes me back to my former career (teaching), where I felt a great sense of purpose because of the mentoring and modeling that I could do with kids who are still trying to figure out who they're choosing to become. In a small way, coaching allows me to do that for these athletes. I am so grateful to have a job that allows me to take on this role.

Over the past 6 months, I put in a lot of work with the first Navigate and Negotiate cohort group with Princess Castleberry and Nicole Lewis. I am not exaggerating when I say that it was eye opening! I learned so much that I have already begun to put into practice. Growth is coming!
