π¨ FRAUD ALERT β PLEASE BE AWARE August 25, 2026π¨
Everglades Federal Credit Union has received reports of scammers calling our members and pretending to be Credit Union employees.
These callers may:
β’ Claim there are suspicious or fraudulent transactions on your account
β’ Ask you to confirm personal or account information
β’ Leave a voicemail stating they are calling from Everglades Federal Credit Union
β’ Make it appear on Caller ID that the call is coming from our actual Credit Union phone number
β’ Tell you not to come into the Credit Union, even claiming that the fraudulent activity is being done internally
Please do not provide personal, account, debit card, PIN, password, verification code, or online banking information to an unsolicited caller.
β οΈ Caller ID can be spoofed. Even if our Credit Union phone number appears on your screen, that does not guarantee the call is actually coming from us.
If you receive a suspicious call claiming to be from Everglades Federal Credit Union:
Hang up. Do not call the number provided by the caller or use the number from your recent calls. Contact us directly using the phone number you already know, or come into the Credit Union.
Most importantly, we will NEVER discourage you from coming into the Credit Union to speak with us in person.
If you have already received one of these calls or provided information to the caller, please contact us immediately so we can assist you in protecting your account.
Please share this information with family and friends, especially those who may be more vulnerable to phone scams.
