We are looking forward to Oct. 5 - the 110th anniversary of the day in 1911 that the first airplane in Bradley County landed on the site that is now the Village Green Shopping Center in Cleveland, TN! The plane was piloted by pioneer aviator Charles Hamilton - also known as "The Crazy Man of the Air." Hamilton made three flights from the field where the Village Green is located now (1:39pm, 2:30pm, and 4:20pm). Thanks to Margot Still at the Historical Branch of the library for providing these special photos. Look for a story soon in the Cleveland Daily Banner!
